Mt Hood

Mt Hood
Mt. Hood is the ultimate versatile accessory—a cozy ribbed hood that has an attached cowl so you can put the hood up when the weather calls for it!
Quick to knit and perfect for gifting, this piece can be worn as a classic cowl or pulled up into a balaclava-style hood for extra warmth. The pattern includes four sizes to suit everyone.
Knit in the round from the bottom up, the cowl transitions seamlessly to the hood with a simple split under the chin. From there, it’s worked flat in easy ribbing, with clear instructions for shaping the rounded point of the hood. Thoughtful decreases create a clean finish at the back, and the top is joined with a fuss-free 3-Needle Bind Off. Add a front edging customized to your desired width to finish it just the way you like. Choose your tie from I-Cord, ribbon, or even a long shoestring.
Designed for DK weight yarn, Mt. Hood is wonderfully adaptable—try it in different yarn weights including yarn from your stash. Size and yarn usage will vary with differences in gauge and yarn choices.
The instructions are written and the pattern has been professionally tech-edited and tested.
